was the CL1B compressor on a buss for the vocals?
Youssef Bakhti (12 days ago)
Sigala, i loved the bass so much, you don't know how many times i tried to remake it.
Andrew Ortiz (13 days ago)
im confused. I though you are supposed to take off the eq and reverb when layering. but here I see him doing the opposite for his plucks.

What's the name of mic that he used to record vocal?

42:07 someone knows what are the 2 SPIRE presets (or the banks names ) he used to fill the piano break layer? Thanks in advance :)
drjazz72 (4 months ago)
enjoyed very much. He looks a bit tired like he's been working in the studio for 12 hours or something without a break, which I'm sure is the kind of intensity needed to get the results he gets.

anybody understood the order of composition? Sigala received the acapella and then worked around it? (He was saying how he is throwing around chords that work with the vocals, to find the right ones) A bit unusual, I believe that usually you start with a track... then add topline melody...

Im abit confused with the piano ...I thought the intention was for one to fill the stero feild and for the other one remain more mono...So why add H delay to both of them ??? ..Would appreciate an answer from anyone who knows why :)
dinfluence30 (3 months ago)
Genre Fluid Type beats i understand your point. Cause in my opinion there should not be a delay on the monopart.. otherwise it will bounce around the stereo field

It’s incredible that producers do this. Reveal all their secrets. they never used to do that before
Exit Paradise (5 months ago)
well, a lot of the secret is the ORDER in which they do/add things. It's like a house of cards.

Thank god somebody else is using Protools for production and not just mixing. So refreshing to see.
Phil Bailey (3 months ago)
Yeah definitely refreshing to see pro tools being used for this type of music. Also annoys me when you see most electronic music tutorials always shown on other DAW's. Not because theres anything wrong with the other DAW's, it's just nice to see how it's achieved in pro tools. I'm sure theres lots of people in the industry who produce in pro tools 'behind the scenes', just you don't see much representations on youtube.
Stuart Chestnut (5 months ago)
Because all the tutorials for Dance (EDM, techno, trap, house etc etc) seem to either be using Ableton Live, FL Studio, or Logic. This is the first tutorial Ive seen for that genre, where they are using protools. Its very welcome from me, cause I use Protools too, and i have since 2005, I was told at the time its the industry standard, when I studied audio engineering at college. That is true for recording and mixing, but for the stuff i do, its always Ableton Live, FL Studio, or Logic thats used in the tutorials i watch.

Cover the loudspeaker with stuff... yea thats a perfect way to mix your stuff correctly. And the devialet speaker are also wrong placed...but whatever its just plastic-0815 crap music with no soul
Tazmanian Ninja (5 months ago)
If you can't hear this is proper, good music, you don't understand music. It's clear Bruce/Sigala understands music theory quite well. He's producing music that makes a lot of people happy. Nothing wrong with that. Quite the contrary. That said, I agree there's a lot of shit on the radio and Spotify charts. Sigala just isn't in that camp. It's in the opposite camp of good, harmonically sound music.
Buzzin' Records (6 months ago)
who gives a flying fuck!!! this guy does many many things that 'experts' would frown upon including compressing after certain fx etc, but his tracks are FUCKING banging and top notch quality.... not everything has to be done the same way as someone else told you so dude, open your mind a bit
Jonathan Chiasson (6 months ago)
Martina Lavratilova Yes he is. Your poor, both in money and intelligence.
Noplan (6 months ago)
@VTKZ You are not in the position to decide for everyone which music has soul. There are no objective characteristics for this. That depends entirely on the listener.
