Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
Cast: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Josh Helman, Lana Condor, Ben Hardy

X-Men: Apocalypse | "Welcome Home Raven" Clip [HD] | 20th Century FOX
Those talking about she didn't confide in Beast in this movie, and was thinking about Magneto's tragic loss. Beast wasn't supportive of her mutant form and rather insulting about her changing. Magneto embraced her true nature and expressed she didn't have to hide who she is.
I like how in Days of Future Past, after Raven confronted Erik at the station, he called her "Charles' Raven", and after confronting Charles here he tells her she still sounds like Erik.
Raven's the only one being impartial while Charles and Erik are preoccupied with their rival lol
X1, X2, Origins, First Class, and DOFP were great (not so sure about Last Stand), but is this movie actually worth it? i mean, should i even bother watching it if the "villain" is just gonna be another cliche-spewing giant thing like all the others that gets exploded in the end?
aw, i can't say no to ol' James McAdorablePants. he gets me every time. :3
Charles: (with tears in his eyes) You still sound… just like him… You sound just like Erik.
OMG!!!!!! The heartbreak in his eyes!!!!! 😭😭😭💔 It’s like he was talking to his daughter about her other parent who left
+Stefanie Callista it was SO heartbreaking!!!! Especially when you remember how the first thing Charles yelled at Erik in the plane was "You abandoned me!" He did mention Raven, but that was first thing that came out T.T
Honestly the whole plane scene was like two exes (who still love each other) talking. </3
Jennifer Lawrence pretty much played herself or Catniss in this movie. She showed no emotion for Beast even though Beast looked really surprised to see her again(they had a thing in X-men first class. It was like she was just making a guest appearance as JLAW.
Mutants are like LGBT people. They are different and extraordinary. They are people. But until they are accepted into society, they will always hide. They will reach this safe haven. They want to be normal. They want to be cured from their sickness. But they never realize that it is only a sickness if they consider it one.
mystique doesnt have to be that much of a jerk to be as the real mystique from the comics. yeah she was crazy but now shes just too snappy. charles was like a brother to her (in the movies, of course). that shoudnt have to change. they really changed her completely.
even charles and magneto had (a slightly) more of a brother to brother connection than raven and charles.
i really hope that they dont start a hate-relationship. just cuz they think differently doesnt mean they have to be enemies. in the movies, she was a first class xman, so she shoud feel some kind of a good feeling for the xmen.
now, if it was the jaggernut and charles, that woud be understandable. but then again, comics and movies were different:/
Yes, well, back when I first wrote that comment I hadn't seen the film. I still haven't seen it. I'll be watching it tomorrow though. I'd love to see what possible reason they're going to give for these two getting back together again.
+AwesomeCyborgFROG in First Class Charles and Eric were supposed to be early 20's, now theyre supposed to be early 40's. not far of stretch now since James MacAvoy is 37 and Michael Fassbender is 39. As for Jennifer Lawrence, well in the comics Mystique was born in the late 19th century.. so she ages very slowly.
+INDIGO BLUEoO it did... In Apocalypse... Alex's ability hit some kind of tank, thus blowing the mansion up... And then at the end, Jean, Eric, and another person who I still can't remember, rebuild it...
Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed that this will be her last appearance as Mystique. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) is also end of contract for actors Jame McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Nicholas Hoult but they have expressed interest in future sequels/prequels.
How does this related to the dofp. In the dofp wolverine wake up and Charles is already old.. But they were alive.. So Apocalypse failed in this movie (that's kinda a spoiler, right? But we all know the heroes always win already :P)
I always assumed there were three different realities. The main ones we saw in the original 3, the one where wolverine went back and trask was never killed and apocalypse never woke up (that's the ending we saw at the end of DOFP), and the one where trask wasn't never killed but apocalypse did rise. I assumed messing with time caused the events that made it possible for apocalypse to be woken up. I imagine it like Poseidon's trident or whatever you call it. The point where the all meet is 1973.
Raven and Charles in the same age here as i see. Meaby Charles is a little bit older, matter of few years, but in the original movies or timeline..wharever Charles is old and she is a young woman. Is she like Logan or just a plothole?
Storm started out on the bad side. If you read the comics she used her magic for evil after being trapped by some African guy, when she was a little girl she stole Charles wallet and he caught her in Africa and basically rescued her. This is their version tjo
+WEIRDIE I think they using Mystique as anti-hero, because she sposed to be villain, but her being played by JLaw means box office $$$$. Meanwhile, they needed a way to introduce Storm, cause she is all the way from Africa, and since Apocalypse is from Africa, then well....they will introduce her as villain, then turn her good, and Mystique will hopefully turn bad.
+George Daugherty First off, I'm not passing this as fact, merely giving possible reasons for why she's not wearing makeup in this scene and majority of the film. I've said it could be Singer or Lawrence as the possible reasons for that. I think Lawrence demanding makeup be brought down is a real and possible reason. Bringing down makeup usage is not a reason executives would want to recast, let alone recast a talented oscar winning star. If you honestly believe they would fire her and recast on a 3rd film because she doesn't want to wear a lot of makeup, then you're just stubbornly refusing to see that perspective. Stars have power, and executives will fight to keep them if they've shown box office and critical success in the past; which she has with Hunger games and winning oscars.
Preach it. This movie is clearly more about Jennifer Lawrence than mystique herself. Even before the event that turned Raven really dark her character has always been dark. Even when she was on the good side or helping them she was always a dark figure in the comics. The woman in the shadows. I like Jennifer Lawrence but I feel like she never took the time to actually figure out the character. This is just another role and another check for her.
+George Daugherty If you don't think an oscar winner, and face of a huge franchise doesn't have leeway with executives, then you don't live in the real world. Actors like her with her resume, talent and oscars has a lot of power. And I don't think she's coming back, she's not invested in this franchise anymore; and judging by this clip and reviews, she's mailed it in. You can disagree if you like, I don't know the entire facts, but her portrayal of mystique in this film is completely 180 from who the character is; she would never appear human amongst her fellow mutants. Never.
+karnak333 It seems like mystique's look has become a symbol of the era where mutants and humans live together, this era of apocalipsis, because she saved the president in days of future past, so everyone would recognize her everytime
+bgcm1995 She was the same way in the first two of the new time line trilogy. She's proud to me a mutant. She wouldn't hide it amongst her friends. In public, yes; but in front of her fellow mutants, no. It's not who she is. I'll be interested to see if it was Singer's creative decision, or Lawrence flexing her muscles and demanding makeup be scaled down.
This scene seems rushed. The cuts are really quick between dialogue. I have a feeling there's a lot more to this conversation that we'll see in the final film. I'll see the movie regardless, but this clip isn't selling me.
+Rob “D21Beast” Pollock Having seen the film, I can tell you the film scene is longer, if I recall. This is just a cut down promotional clip, hence the intro of the school establish shot, whereas in the actual film this scene directly follows from another in the mansion. There is also more dialogue between them inbetween "We did" and "just because theres not a war doesn't mean there's peace". It flows perfectly in the final scene.
Why is raven in that form? oh it's because they pretty much just use Jennifer Lawrence's face as much as they can even though here looking like a normal human when it's just her and the professor goes against her character
+kishan harripersad the whole point of her character development in first class was "mutant and proud" she didn't want to have to blend in. And especially if she's at a place that is full of mutants like Xavier's mansion.
