Strange Facts About Dreams

03:35
Amazing things that happen to people while dreaming. Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Description: Sleep is something that we do and need on a regular basis in order for our bodies to function. For most of us that sleep, we tend to experience some sort of dreaming, where our minds take off and we experience another world of existence. Sometimes we have good dreams, and sometimes we have nightmares that can terrify us to the core and force us to sleep with the lights on for the rest of the night. But our dreams are so much more than a nightly occurrence. But instead, they offer glimpses into our very own psyches and tell us so much about our psychology and how we deal with stress, anxiety, and overall feelings of our life. Studies have shown that we experience 4-6 dreams per night, which we quickly forget within the first ten minutes that we wake up. In the time that we dream, it can total out to be about 6 years of our life that we spend dreaming. While sleeping is typically perceived as a time of rest, scientists have discovered that the brain is busier than ever in our sleep while it is recharging. In fact, the brain can actually learn more efficiently and uses sleep and dreaming to process the new information it has received during the day. In dreaming, the brain can also sort through problems and dilemmas and come up with solutions. Needless to say, the brain is more active while it is recharging. This stage is known as rapid eye movement, and the body will also release a chemical that paralyzes you so that you don’t act out your dreams. If you wake up suddenly while the chemical is still present, sleep paralysis can result. If the brain hasn’t completely woken up yet, people can hallucinate and see their dreams before them. The result is the person is paralyzed, unable to speak, and could possibly be experiencing some pretty terrifying images that they don’t understand. Those who are blind can also dream, but in a different way. For those who have been blind since birth, they have no concept of visual stimulation, and therefore, can’t process visual imagery in their sleep. Instead, the blind experience dreams with their other senses in a heightened form, such as sound, taste, smell, and touch. While dreaming, we also act out our fears and personal insecurities. If you’re in a serious relationship, you’ve probably experienced a dream or two where your significant other is having an affair. Sometimes, these dreams are so real that the dreamer is still angry upon awakening. As long as the line between reality and personal worries is clear, then hopefully the drama stays in dream land. Sometimes our dreams can lead to more physical results, such as nocturnal emissions, or better known as wet dreams. Not just males experience this kind of pleasure and euphoria in their dreams, but females as well. This phenomenon is common in adolescence, but adults can have these sort of dreams too. These are but a few of the strange things about dreams. Check out the video and find out what other extraordinary things your brain is trying to tell you! WHY DO WE DREAM WHEN WE SLEEP?

05:06
WHY DO WE DREAM? Thanks for watching and please subscribe! My channel explores a variety of subjects about questions we often ponder. I also share random fact lists! Come join us! There have been many questions asked throughout our time, but one of the most frequent things we have pondered in life is why we dream. So, why do we dream? Is it a way for us to experience things that we couldn’t otherwise? Is it a way for us to look into the future or relive our past? While the exact answer is still unknown and the question is still puzzling scientists around the world, a few theories have emerged. First of all, dreaming is something that everyone does. There is no controlling the actual act. With that being said, some people do believe that they can control the dreams they have based on deep thinking about a subject before they fall asleep. Others claim they don’t dream some nights or even at all, but this, we know is untrue based on brain activity patterns that have been studied in the past. It seems some of us just forget our dreams entirely and assume it didn’t happen. But since we know that it happens, why can’t we connect the dots to find out why it happens? It turns out, we are missing a lot of the puzzle pieces. We first learned about REM or Rapid Eye Movement because of observations of sleeping babies. As we would watch our babies sleep we would be able to physically see their eyes going side to side. This observation was thing watch in laboratories for the first dream studies. After analyze sleep patterns and discussing memories with sleep study participants, it turned out that this Rapid Eye Movement was the time in sleep that was most connected with dreaming. Of course, later studies have shown that dreaming occurs during other sleep cycles as well, but it is mostly likely to occur during REM sleep. Now, Rapid Eye Movement, or REM sleep isn’t random. It’s part of cycle that repeats itself many times during sleep. And while you might have some nights where you feel you dreamt the whole night away, the fact is REM sleep only accounts for about 22 percent of your sleeping time in adults. For babies, it is actually higher at 50 percent. So Why do we dream? Several theories have been put forth, but we will discuss the three main ones. One thought is that we dream in order to sort out all of the information we learned throughout the day. You take in a lot of information each day from things people say and do to things you do and learn. All of this can get jumbled. Some scientists simply believe that our dreams work as a way to organize the information and basically place it in the right order in our brain. Now some of these same scientists go a step further and believe that the dreaming process helps the brain decide which information to hold onto and what to forget. Your brain sorts through the information and connects it with other memories that have been stored to determine whether or not it is something that should be kept. Information deemed less important by your brain would be thrown out. Subscribe so you don't miss out. FOLLOW ME! 10:32
If you’ve ever wondered about what happens when you sleep watch this video. Sleeping every night is important to recharge and prepare ourselves for the coming day. Do You Often Wake Up Between 3 AM and 5 AM? Here Is What It Means

10:31
Do you often wake up between 3 am - 5 am? If you wake up at the same time every night, it could be because your body is trying to send you a message. Yes, there is anecdotal evidence stating that waking up at certain times during the night is actually a symptom of something spiritual. But, according to the ancient Chinese Medicine Body Clock, energy runs through a different meridian of your body at different times of day. These meridians are like channels which send energy to different organs in order to promote health and vitality. When there is a blockage in these channels however, energy cannot pass through, causing stagnation or a buildup of energy. This can then disturb your sleep and wake you up. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) if you wake up at the same time every night, it could indicate a sign of weakness in the corresponding meridian or organ. The body, mind and emotions are inseparable in TCM - meaning that if you have disharmony in your physical body, it is tied to your emotional state. For example, if you often wake up between 3 am - 5 am, it’s a sign that energies in that very corresponding part of your body are blocked and weak due to your neglect. In this video, we outline the organs and emotions associated with different times during the night. You will gain some insight into why you might be waking up at a certain hour and what you should do about it! सपनों का सही मतलब क्या हैं और क्यों आते हैं ? what are dreams and why do we dream [Hindi]

07:03
A dream is a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. The content and purpose of dreams are not fully understood, though they have been a topic of scientific speculation, as well as a subject of philosophical and religious interest, throughout recorded history. Dream interpretation is the attempt at drawing meaning from dreams and searching for an underlying message. The scientific study of dreams is called oneirology. Dreams mainly occur in the rapid-eye movement (REM) stage of sleep—when brain activity is high and resembles that of being awake. REM sleep is revealed by continuous movements of the eyes during sleep. At times, dreams may occur during other stages of sleep. However, these dreams tend to be much less vivid or memorable. The length of a dream can vary; they may last for a few seconds, or approximately 20–30 minutes. People are more likely to remember the dream if they are awakened during the REM phase. The average person has three to five dreams per night, and some may have up to seven; however, most dreams are immediately or quickly forgotten. Dreams tend to last longer as the night progresses. During a full eight-hour night sleep, most dreams occur in the typical two hours of REM. Sleep paralysis is a phenomenon during which an individual is unable to move during falling asleep or awakening, but is aware of their surroundings. It is often accompanied by frightening hallucinations to which one is unable to react because of paralysis and perceived physical experiences, such as a strong current running through the upper body. Sleep paralysis poses no immediate risk to those who experience it, although it occasionally causes significant distress.Episodes last from several seconds to several minutes A lucid dream is a dream during which the dreamer is aware of dreaming. During lucid dreaming, the dreamer may be able to exert some degree of control over the dream characters, narrative, and environment. Precognition also called prescience, future vision, future sight is an alleged psychic ability to see events in the future. Scientific investigation of extrasensory perception is complicated by the definition which implies that the phenomena go against established principles of science. Specifically, precognition would violate the principle that an effect cannot occur before its cause. There are established biases affecting human memory and judgment of probability that sometimes create convincing but false impressions of precognition. सपने क्यों आते है और क्या सपने सच होते है? source of info : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precognition https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis Music Credit : Heart of Nowhere by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1400045 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ =========================================== Please like share and subscribe this video, also please share your comment in comment section :) Thanks & Love Vichitra 4U

How To Lucid Dream In 5 Minutes

09:13
Let's talk easy lucid dreaming, How to Lucid Dream & How to do Dream Yoga: So you're wondering how to Lucid Dream, or perhaps you're wondering: What is Lucid Dreaming? Well in this video I'll explain what Lucid Dreaming is, give you some of my top Lucid Dreaming Tips, show you how to Lucid Dream yourself, and get you started on your Lucid Dreaming journey with how to become lucid. You'll learn easy Lucid Dreaming rather than being given one of the harder techniques right off the bat, since after all this is a guide on How to Lucid Dream for Beginners - and is designed to help you have your first Lucid Dream ever. What is Lucid Dreaming? Lucid Dreaming is the art of being aware that you are dreaming from within a dream. Once you learn how to Lucid Dream, this will also come with the ability for you to control the dream. So, Lucid Dreaming means unlocking control over what happens during your sleep. Being able to end nightmares early or turn them into positive dreams. The ability to turn into your favourite character or superhero. Flying around endless, using super-powers. Facing your fears. Practising skills. These are all just a small select sample of things you can do when Lucid Dreaming or practising Dream Yoga. As you can see there are many reasons why it's worth learning how to Lucid Dream. How to Lucid Dream: So, how to Lucid Dream? Let's discuss how to have your first Lucid Dream. In order to Lucid Dream, you need to get yourself into the REM cycle of sleep, preferably the longest one which starts around 6 hours into your sleep. Once there, you can perform a Lucid Dream Induction Technique to increase your chances of having your first lucid dream. Easy Lucid Dreaming is only one step away now! How to Lucid Dream in 5 Minutes: But wait, it's a 9 minute video!? How can this be How to Lucid Dream in 5 Minutes? Is this clickbait? No. Once you're ready and set and awake during an REM cycle, the method for how to Lucid Dream itself will actually only take 2-3 minutes, so you'll be Lucid Dreaming in no time. We'll just call it 5 just in case it takes you a little longer to fall back asleep. How to Lucid Dream for Beginners: So, is there some difference if you're trying to learn how to Lucid Dream for Beginners? Well yes, beginners often overcomplicate Lucid Dreaming by trying harder methods like WILD or by using things like Binaural Beats that simply don't work for a lot of people. By using the technique outlined in this video (which is a variation of the MILD technique), which is really for easy Lucid Dreaming, you'll learn how to Lucid Dream a lot quicker. This method is what I used at the start of my own Lucid Dreaming experiences, and by the second night of using it I was able to induce a Lucid Dream of my own accord for the first time. --- So now you know you have your answers to the questions: What is Lucid Dreaming, as well as How to Lucid Dream, along with what you can do in a Lucid Dream and why you should start with this method for your Lucid Dreaming journey. Now that you know how to have a Lucid Dream, you've started your Lucid Dreaming journey for real. If you want to continue that journey and see how far you can go with it, I have a 14 part audio course where I detail everything from the basics of Lucid Dreaming to more advanced techniques like creating your own dream locations. If you'd like to check it out, you can find it on Gumroad, here: https://gumroad.com/products/iLPxp/ Enjoyed learning this easy Lucid Dreaming method and Lucid Dreaming Guide, and want to learn more? Want to find other methods to help you Lucid Dream tonight? [ADVANCED] The Best Binaural Beats for a Deep Sleep (90-Minute Sleep Cycle)

01:30:01
** PLEASE NOTE: If you're new to binaural beats, I highly recommend my "beginner" track: http://bit.ly/binauralbeginner Continue watching this video at your own risk! ** DOWNLOAD all my binaural beat content here: http://bit.ly/bestbinaural ** NO SOUND? Stereo headphones are REQUIRED! ** DISABLE any filters on your device (DTS, surround enhancers, bass boost, etc) as they will interfere with proper audio playback. By popular demand, here's a longer binaural beat video designed to help you get an even BETTER sleep than the last one! :) This video is designed to help you fall asleep quickly, and sleep as deeply as possible, for one full sleep cycle. Sleep cycles vary in length from person to person, but are generally 90 minutes in length. After that, you can take off your headphones, roll onto your side (or whatever makes you happy) and enjoy an excellent night of natural sleep. I personally can't sleep with headphones for an entire 6-8 hours, but if you really want a super-long track I can make you one... :) Over the course of the night, the first sleep cycle is usually the deepest, with most body repair and release of growth hormone occurring while the brain is in the deep Delta state. To help you get as many of those positive benefits as possible, this track goes all the way down to 0.2 Hz. ** DISCLAIMER: I’m not a doctor, just a nerd who loves meditation and experimenting with new things. I test every binaural beat track on myself and make sure I'm happy with the result before I make it public. Ultimately, every person is going to have their own unique experience. Using this track is done at your own risk -- if you start to experience any negative effects, STOP using it!

Amazing Facts You don't Know About Dreams

01:50
Weird and Strangest facts about dreams. Sleep is something that we do and need on a regular basis in order for our bodies to function. Facts - 1. The strangers in your dreams are those that you have already seen in real life. 2. Even animals dream too. 3. Some of the great inventions are inspired by dreams. 4. You can't read while dreaming, or tell the time. 5. Blind people dream too. 6. Increased brain activity while dreaming. 7. Multiple dreams per night. SUBSCRIBE - www.youtube.com/scienceversion

Sleep Myth #8 - If you don't remember your dreams, do you still dream?

01:14
There is a common belief that you may dream for hours. Research estimates that most adults dream 4-6 times per night and dream from just a few minutes to 30 minutes or more. We are not the best at judging the passing of time when we're asleep so don't put too much faith in your memory. You also may not remember your dreams even when they do occur. This is normal. Some people are more prone to remember their dreams than others. Remembering a dream may also be related to the emotional intensity of the dream. To be safe, don't put too much emphasis on your dreams and sleep well.

'The Success Mindset' - Deep Sleep Programming - Confidence, Self Esteem & Goal Setting

03:00:01
MP3: http://www.brainwavehub.com/?download=the-success-mindset-deep-sleep-programming Do Brainwave Entrainment Audios Work on Youtube? YES! https://www.brainwavehub.com/binaural-beat-mp3s-youtube-videos-work/ This sleep programming audio features affirmations which encourage self confidence and the achievement of specific goals. Greater confidence and self esteem are a by-product of pursuing and achieving these goals, but having some degree of confidence is vital in the first place in order to meet challenges head on. Knowing that you can achieve your goals, and to subsequently prove yourself right is a great feeling and serves to further reinforce confidence in yourself. That isn't to say that failure can't teach us something - when we are passionately striving to meet our goals, failure can be seen as a valuable lesson, a 'necessary evil' that allows us to refine our approach. In the words of Thomas Edison, ''I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work". Having confidence in our abilities, a strong sense of self, and a clear, definable goal can help guide us through any challenges which may arise. Providing your goals are 'S.M.A.R.T - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound, you can meet any challenge you set your mind to. When choosing your goals, choose ones that are meaningful to you. "What the thinker thinks, the prover proves". Most of the work will be down to you, but this affirmation audio will help alter your mindset and cultivate a single-minded approach towards success. Over time this will communicate to your subconscious mind the importance of achieving these goals. Just as a misanthrope confirms his own subjective reality through self-fulfilling-prophecy, so too will you learn to see opportunities for growth and success; solutions to problems that may arise, and your own success & self worth reflected back at you. INSTRUCTIONS Firstly, write down your goals and objectives on a piece of paper or on some post it notes - remember to make them S.M.A.R.T (see above). Stick these up around your house, apartment etc. You may even wish to write out the affirmations in this audio as well. You don't have to do this, but these drastic approaches can go a long way to conditioning your mind. Listen during the night as you sleep and/or during more active listening sessions, i.e. while conscious, during meditation/relaxation sessions. At the start of each session, relax your mind and body, then begin to visualise yourself achieving these goals - try to incorporate all senses - visual, auditory, olfactory and kinesthetic. Spend as long as you like doing this exercise then either fall asleep to the audio or continue meditating. Try out various approaches and find what works best for you as everyone is different. Try this out for 30 days and at the same time, take action towards your clearly defined goals. Please feel free to share these in the comments section, as well as a documentation of your progress. To loop the audio, right click the video screen and click Loop. Headphones are optional. If listening during the night, ensure that the volume is set to a level that will not disturb you. AFFIRMATIONS The left channel contains affirmations for success and goal setting while on the right channel are affirmations for confidence and self esteem. Goal Setting / Success: The path toward my goal is clear. My goals are becoming manifest. My goals and motivation make an unbeatable combination I can clearly see my goal already accomplished. My goals fit perfectly with all areas of my life Accomplishment of my goals is part of my reality My hard work is paying off I'm firmly on the path of achievement and success I have the necessary passion to accomplish my goals I commit myself to my goals. I am focused on making my dreams a reality I have already succeeded I stay motivated to take the necessary actions to bring me closer to my dreams Self Esteem / Confidence I love myself unconditionally I take pride in who I am I am happy just being me I am totally comfortable being myself I have limitless confidence in my abilities I accept myself deeply and completely I acknowledge my own self-worth; my confidence is soaring I am overflowing with joy, vitality and energy I have confidence in my ability to do whatever I set my mind to Love is my birthright. I am a manifestation of this love. I am loving and loved by many

I Decided to Sleep for 4 Hours a Day, See What Happened

12:29
One of the Bright Side writers decided to adjust his daily routine to leave only 2-4 hours for sleep! Do you ever think about how cool it would be if there were more hours in a day? You would easily have time for everything: work, hobbies, friends, and family or just lazing around doing nothing at all. But enough dreaming, let's get back to reality. The only way to make it happen is by sleeping less, but would that actually work without turning you into a tired grouch? TIMESTAMPS Where did the idea come from? 0:50 Day 1 2:48 Day 2 3:20 Day 3 3:46 Day 4 4:15 Day 5 4:55 Days 6-7 5:41 Days 8-10 6:20 Days 11-14 6:55 Pros of polyphasic sleep 7:30 Cons of polyphasic sleep 8:46 My thoughts after the experiment 9:48 SUMMARY If your life is like one big to-do list that you just can't seem to keep up with, then polyphasic sleep is probably for you. All jokes aside, I definitely became more productive, and I have a lot of spare time that allows me to do everything I want and even more. On the other hand, it can be difficult since the whole world is on a completely different regimen. Your friends and family might think it’s weird when you tell them you can't go out with them or ask them to pause a movie so you can take a nap. In any case, it's your choice to make. Just do your homework first, and then go for it! If this sort of dramatic change isn’t for you, don't worry! There are still lots of things you can do to improve your productivity. What Happens To Your Body And Brain If You Don't Get Sleep | The Human Body

04:50
Sleep expert Matthew Walker breaks down the many effects of sleep deprivation on your brain and body. Following is the transcript of the video: Matthew Walker: My name is Matthew Walker, I am a professor of neuroscience and psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, and I am the author of the book "Why We Sleep." We certainly know that a lack of sleep will actually prevent your brain from being able to initially make new memories, so it's almost as though without sleep the memory inbox of the brain shuts down and you can't commit new experiences to memory. So those new incoming informational emails are just bounced, and you end up feeling as though you're amnesiac. You can't essentially make and create those new memories. We also know that a lack of sleep will lead to an increased development of a toxic protein in the brain that is called beta amyloid and that is associated with Alzheimer's disease because it is during deep sleep at night when a sewage system within the brain actually kicks in to high gear and it starts to wash away this toxic protein, beta amyloid. So if you're not getting enough sleep each and every night, more of that Alzheimer's-related protein will build up. The more protein that builds up, the greater your risk of going on to develop dementia in later life. What are the effects of sleep deprivation on the body? Well, there are many different effects. Firstly, we know that sleep deprivation affects the reproductive system. We know that men who are sleeping just five to six hours a night have a level of testosterone which is that of someone ten years their senior. So a lack of sleep will age you by almost a decade in terms of that aspect of virility and wellness. We also know that a lack of sleep impacts your immune system. So after just one night of four to five hours of sleep, there is a 70% reduction in critical anticancer-fighting immune cells called natural killer cells. And that's the reason that we know that short sleep duration predicts your risk for developing numerous forms of cancer. And that list currently includes cancer of the bowel, cancer of the prostate, as well as cancer of the breast. In fact, the link between a lack of sleep and cancer is now so strong that recently the World Health Organization decided to classify any form of nighttime shift work as a probable carcinogen. So in other words, jobs that may induce cancer because of a disruption of your sleep rate rhythms. We also know that a lack of sleep impacts your cardiovascular system because it is during deep sleep at night that you receive this most wonderful form of effectively blood pressure medication. Your heart rate drops, your blood pressure goes down. If you're not getting sufficient sleep, you're not getting that reboot of the cardiovascular system, so your blood pressure rises. You have, if you're getting six hours of sleep or less, a 200% increased risk of having a fatal heart attack or stroke in your lifetime. There is a global experiment that is performed on 1.6 billion people twice a year and it's called daylight saving time. And we know that in the spring, when we lose one hour of sleep, we see a subsequent 24% increase in heart attacks the following day. Another question, perhaps, is what is the recycle rate of a human being? How long can we actually last without sleep before we start to see declines in your brain function or even impairments within your body? And the answer seems to be about 16 hours of wakefulness. Once you get past 16 hours of being awake, that's when we start to see mental deterioration and physiological deterioration in the body. We know that after you've been awake for 19 or 20 hours, your mental capacity is so impaired that you would be as deficient as someone who was legally drunk behind the wheel of a car. So if you were to ask me what is the recycle rate of a human being, it does seem to be about 16 hours and we need about eight hours of sleep to repair the damage of wakefulness. Wakefulness essentially is low-level brain damage. ------------------------------------------------------ #Sleep #SleepDeprivation #TechInsider Tech Insider tells you all you need to know about tech: gadgets, how-to's, gaming, science, digital culture, and more. The Mind After Midnight: Where Do You Go When You Go to Sleep?

01:25:41
We spend a third of our lives asleep. Every organism on Earth—from rats to dolphins to fruit flies to microorganisms—relies on sleep for its survival, yet science is still wrestling with a fundamental question: Why does sleep exist? During Shakespeare and Cervantes' time, sleep was likened to death, with body and mind falling into a deep stillness before resurrecting each new day. In reality, sleep is a flurry of action. Trillions of neurons light up. The endocrine system kicks into overdrive. The bloodstream is flooded with a potent cocktail of critically vital hormones. Such vibrant activity begs the question: Where do we go when we go to sleep? Based on new sleep research, there are tantalizing signposts. We delved into the one-eyed, half-brained sleep of some animals; eavesdropped on dreams to understand their cognitive significance; and investigated extreme and bizarre sleeping behaviors like “sleep sex” and “sleep violence.” The World Science Festival gathers great minds in science and the arts to produce live and digital content that allows a broad general audience to engage with scientific discoveries. Our mission is to cultivate a general public informed by science, inspired by its wonder, convinced of its value, and prepared to engage with its implications for the future. A two day old kitty dreaming while sleeping

03:12
My new cat was pregnant when I adopted her and had babies only two days ago. Today I realized one of the babies was moving its paws while sleeping and I quickly got my digital camera and shot this video. I apologize the video's quality is not the best, but the baby is sleeping in my room's closet, where there is not much light. Anyway I find it really curious to see how a kitty is capable of dreaming since such a tender age.
