As we walked along the coastline of Sardinia, the smell of fresh bougainvillea permeated the air as though we had entered a secret serene garden. The sun shined down onto the crystal clear cerulean Sea, illuminating the waters and creating a sparkle effect, dancing in unison on the surface. This was not the Italy we knew before. This was an entirely new world to explore. This was Sardinia. Just south of Corsica France, Sardinia’s coast had been beckoning us to visit for years, as though it knew we would fall in love with this Mediterranean island lifetimes before stepping onto it. The northeastern coastline of Sardinia, known as the Costa Smeralda, is notorious as the playground for sailing and the rich & famous. Yachts flood the glamorous town of Porto Cervo in the summer months and create an alternate utopian universe for Europe’s bourgeois to rub shoulders. While the Costa Smeralda may be known as the summer playground for the elite, there is so much more that it offers. Top Most Attraction of Beautiful Beaches in Italy
Top Most Attraction of Beautiful Beaches in Italy Top Most Attraction of Beautiful Beaches in Italy Italy, a European country with a long Mediterranean coastline, has left a powerful mark on Western culture and cuisine. Its capital, Rome, is home to the Vatican as well as landmark art and ancient ruins. Other major cities include Florence, with Renaissance masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s "David" and Brunelleschi's Duomo; Venice, the city of canals; and Milan, Italy’s fashion capital. Capri Capri is a fabulous rocky island close to Naples and the Amalfi Coast. With glorious views, short walks, Roman ruins, boutiques and an exclusive atmosphere, it is one of my personal favourites for a holiday. Travellers should note that the island is expensive, and a 'coastal' rather than a 'beach' destination. Cefalù Cefalù is a charming historic seaside town in Sicily with a beautiful Norman cathedral, atmospheric lanes, and sandy beaches close to the town centre. It's a super combination of authentic charm and beach lifestyle, and if you get bored of swimming in the sea or exploring historic lanes, you can climb the hill behind town, make day trips to other interesting Sicilian destinations such as Palermo or take a summer boat excursion to the Aeolian Islands. Amalfi Coast The Amalfi Coast is probably the most spectacular coastline in Italy and offers a wide range of attractions, from the small beaches in pretty resorts to dramatic high-level hikes with staggering views. The beaches themselves are limited in size - Positano's beaches are pebbly; Amalfi's is gravelly and more bather-friendly - but for an all-round holiday with sunbathing, walking, swimming, views, gardens (don't miss the famous gardens of Ravello) and boat trips, this is a great destination. Accommodation tends to be expensive, but there is a large choice, including some B&Bs. Lido di Jesolo Jesolo is an unpretentious modern beach resort near Venice, popular with families and with local youngsters, who visit for the nightlife. With the exception of the long day trip to Venice, there are no cultural attractions, but if you want a good, long beach and a resort atmosphere, it's a safe choice. Rimini Rimini is Italy's classic mass-tourism summer beach resort: miles of sand divided up into sunbed concessions, hundreds of hotels, cheap shops and brash nightlife. The old town, a short distance inland, is more atmospheric, and the town offers a good range of activities including day trips to the little Republic of San Marino. Not for lovers of solitude, but it's a convenient resort for a short break, with an airport of its own. Tropea Tropea, in Calabria, is renowned for its red onions, but it is also a holiday resort par excellence. Particularly popular with German-speaking holidaymakers, the town's attractive historic centre sits on a rocky outcrop, with beaches on either side. Other, smaller, holiday resorts spread out along the coastline on either side of Tropea. Otranto Otranto is a picturesque small resort on the coast in the southern region of Puglia. There's only a small beach in the town, but more can be found along the coast. Otranto's historic centre on a headland is very charming, with a handful of enticing bars, shops and restaurants, and there is a lovely twelfth-century church mosaic to admire. The famous baroque town of Lecce is a train-journey or a drive away. Scilla Want somewhere a bit more off the beaten track? Scilla in Calabria, with a tourist beach, a picturesque fishermen's quarter (called Chianalea) and a castle supposedly dating back into mythology, is one of Italy's many seaside resorts which are not much known to non-Italians. On a railway line between Reggio Calabria and points north, it would make a pleasant place to hole up for a break. City beaches Some of Italy's best city destinations have beaches nearby, usually connected by bus to the centre of town. Both the beaches and the public transport may be crowded in summer, but many 'city beaches' are surprisingly pleasant, and make a refreshing break during a sightseeing trip. If you're visiting a town within reach of the sea, ask the locals - they will always have a favourite beach to recommend.

Lido di Jesolo, Italy - Beach resort on the Adriatic Sea
Lido di Jesolo is a modern beach resort in north-east Italy, on the Adriatic Sea close to Venice. The resort has a different feel to other Italian towns due to its precise layout and range of tourist based shops and services. The resort is clean and extremely safe making holidays to Lido di Jesolo a popular choice for families. Like any other Italian tourist town located by the sea, Lido di Jesolo offers amazing cuisine. This coastal town is very popular among European tourists, especially the young ones who are seeking good night life and fun beach activities. Venice is just a boat ride away which makes Lido di Jesolo even more attractive. Thirteen kilometer long sand beach, plethora of bars and lovely weather, Italian food and wine, the Adriatic Sea and European culture and you have the place of your next dream vacation. The best time to visit Lido di Jesolo is during mid spring and late summer. From May to late September, tourist enjoy swimming and tanning because here the warm weather lasts quite long. With fantastic beaches, numerous bars and cafes and a variety of shops, Lido di Jesolo offers something to keep everyone entertained...... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music: Wonki - Mango https://soundcloud.com/wonkimusic https://play.spotify.com/artist/5RWlSvsywN8xvPAJNdcCzC ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/VeryNiceTravel #verynicetravel Please like, share, favorite, comment, and/or subscribe if you enjoyed! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #lidodijesolo #lidodijesoloitaly #lidodijesolobeach #lidodijesoloitalia #adriaticsea #italy #jesolo #italia

Migrant arrivals in Italy fell by a third in 2017
Migrant arrivals to Italy by sea fell by a third in 2017 compared to a year earlier, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday, as Libyan authorities helped to slow departures during the second half of the year. More than 119,000 reached Italy by boat in 2017 after a record 181,000 made the crossing in 2016, the ministry said in a statement. Since July, arrivals have declined by more than two thirds versus a year earlier. In February, Italy signed an agreement with the United Nations-backed govern… READ MORE : http://www.africanews.com/2018/01/01/migrant-arrivals-in-italy-fell-by-a-third-in-2017 Africanews on YouTube brings you a daily dose of news, produced and realised in Africa, by and for Africans. Migrant gives birth at sea before arriving in Italy
(14 Sep 2016) RESTRICTION SUMMARY: AP CLIENTS ONLY AP TELEVISION - AP CLIENTS ONLY Brindisi - 14 September 2016 1. SOS Mediterranee ship "Aquarius" entering Brindisi port 2. Various of migrants on board SOS Mediterranee ship "Aquarius" 3. Faith holding her baby son Newman, disembarking vessel 4. Various of Faith holding her baby son Newman, being attended by medical staff 5. SOUNDBITE (English) Sarah Giles, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) doctor: "Well I think it was a pretty normal birth just under really extraordinary circumstances. The birth went quite well but the mother had been on a dinghy with about 140 people on it, very overcrowded, she had two other children who were sick, and at that time she was in labour, everyone's vomiting, there was seawater and diesel in the boat which together can burn skin, so that wouldn't been a good place for the baby to be born, and luckily he had the good timing to be born on the ship." 6. Sick woman being helped off the ship by volunteer 7. Migrants disembarking 8. Man holding baby 9. Migrants disembarking 10. SOUNDBITE (English) Sarah Giles, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) doctor: "The mother and baby are great, they came off the ship as a family, mother, father, three children, which is really nice, it's a good news story but unfortunately we have many children who don't get off with their families and who during their long journey have had parents die, or parents who had their children die." 11. Various of migrants receiving medical check-ups 12. Migrants waiting line 13. Close of migrants' feet, being given flip-flops 14. Various of migrants waiting in line, ship in the background 15. SOUNDBITE (English) Sarah Giles, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) doctor: "I think sometimes we hear in the media a lot of negative things about the people coming to Europe and there isn't always a lot of sympathy but I think if people spent 15 minutes on the boat with these people and heard their stories, huge numbers of the women have been raped,it's so prevalent that many of them would get shots of contraception before going on their journey because they know they are going to be raped. People are beaten, people are kept in detention centers, people are in indentured servitude, people are forced into prostitution, they go through horrific things." 16. Group of migrants walking away 17. Migrants disembarking 18. Various of waiting in line 19. Migrants disembarking STORYLINE: Just 24 hours after his family was rescued from an overcrowded rubber boat, a baby boy has been born aboard a rescue vessel in the Mediterranean Sea. Doctors Without Borders, one of the operators of the rescue ship Aquarius, said the boy was born to Nigerian parents in international waters Monday morning. He was named Newman Otas. Sarah Giles, a Doctors Without Borders doctor who helped deliver the baby, said it was "normal birth" in "really extraordinary circumstances." Parents Otas and Faith and older brothers Victory and Rollres were rescued from a rubber boat trying to cross the Mediterranean from Libya a day previously. The baby's mother said she was panicking before the rescue that she would go into labour, and had been having contractions for three days. The Aquarius broght back 391 migrants brought back a total of 391 migrants including the baby. There were 292 males, 99 females and 154 minors - many of whom were unaccompanied. The Aquarius is a joint operation by rescue group SOS Mediterranee and the medical aid group Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) operating in the Mediterranean Sea in the so called 'Search and Rescue' (SAR) zone, where most of the migrant boats are rescued. =========================================================== Clients are reminded: You can license this story through AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/youtube/e507a875d148df926663e072cf2f9558 Find out more about AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/HowWeWork

Italy Is Paying Libya To Intercept Migrants On The Mediterranean (HBO)
In the first six months of 2017, the number of migrants crossing the Mediterranean from Libya to Italy dropped by around half. This drastic fall in numbers was likely a result of the $236 million deal signed in February, in which Italy funds and trains the Libyan coastguards to divert migrants right back to Libya. While the Italian government sees this as reason for celebration, the brunt of the migration crisis is now firmly on Libya. This is a problem given that the UN-backed Libyan Government of National Accord doesn't have the means to effectively handle migrant trafficking and relies on the country's 1,700 militias to do the job for them. By outsourcing this work to armed groups who themselves are implicated in smuggling, a bloody power struggle has erupted. Vice News Tonight was the first foreign media to reach Libya's migrant smuggling epicenter of Sabratha, and met the migrants caught up in the mayhem. Jun 2018 Migrants from Libya to Italy
June 2018. Italy’s collaboration with Libya to stop Migrants reaching Europe is facing a Legal Challenge over allegations that it has led to grave Human Rights Violations against those crossing the Mediterranean, including Torture and Slavery. A lawsuit filed in the European court of Human Rights (ECHR) alleges that Italy’s work with the Libyan coastguard, which has stopped migrant boats at Italy’s behest and forced Thousands of People to return to Libya against their will, has subjected them to Inhumane Conditions, Beatings, Rape and Starvation. There’s no Easy Answer on the Migrants Issue. The way I see it, they’re risking their Life for Something Better. Surely part of the Solution would be to make their Home Nation Something Better and a Reason Not to Leave. https://docterr.com/help

In a country suffering from recession, the rescue operation is costing around $13 million a month, and causing friction with Italy's EU partners. Many migrants walk out of Italian processing centres and head for other Euro territories. EU rules demand those rescued at sea ask for asylum in the country where they come ashore, but job and opportunity-poor Italy drives many migranti to head directly for Northern Europe. "We're heading to Milan and then find another country maybe. Sweden or Netherlands or Germany." explains Mohammad, a Syrian refugee rescued by Italian Navy. The policy is putting pressure on the EU to assist Italy with the rescues, both financially and logistically. But the other member states are reluctant to join in. And now there are growing question marks over how long the Italian government can keep rescuing the migranti lost at sea. My first time Spearfishing in the Mediterranean Sea - PONZA, ITALY!
My good friend from Polosub, Giuliano Tagliacozzo invited me to Blucamp 2018 to go spearfishing on the island of Ponza off the west coast fo Italy for a week with over 30 Italian divers. Of course I jumped at the opportunity to finally go spearfishing in the Mediterranean. I never anticipated it would be as difficult as it was. The fish or pesce are extremely shy and very smart. The type of spearfishing here was unlike anything I had ever experienced... Plenty of Catch and Cook in this vlog with authentic Italian hospitality. Spain Accepts Migrants Stranded at Sea After Italy Denies Them Entry
Spain says it will allow a rescue ship carrying more than 600 migrants picked up in the Mediterranean to dock in the eastern port of Valencia, after Italy's new prime minister, who also leads the right-wing League party, ordered Italy’s ports to refuse entry to the rescue ship. The Aquarius rescue ship run by European charity SOS Mediterranee has been drifting in international waters with 629 migrants on board. More from Sabina Castlefranco in Rome. Hey All! I am sorry I have been a bit slow at uploading all my footage from my trip to Italy. Here is another fun video, of me going to the sea for the very first time in 2016, my spontaneous reaction made me LOL. Venice is a beautiful & romantic city, there are no cars or roads in the whole city therefore it makes for the most calming (when away from crowds) experience. Trieste - Adriatic Sea - Italy
Trieste About is a city and seaport in northeastern Italy. It is situated towards the end of a narrow strip of land lying between the Adriatic Sea and Italy's border with Slovenia, which lies almost immediately south, east and north of the city. Trieste is located at the head of the Gulf of Trieste and throughout history it has been influenced by its location at the crossroads of Germanic, Latin and Slavic cultures. In 2009, it had a population of about 205,000[1] and it is the capital of the autonomous region Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trieste province. Trieste was one of the oldest parts of the Habsburg Monarchy from 1382 until 1918. In the 19th century, it was the most important port of one of the Great Powers of Europe. As a prosperous seaport in the Mediterranean region, Trieste became the fourth largest city of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (after Vienna, Budapest, and Prague). In the fin-de-siecle period, it emerged as an important hub for literature and music. However, the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Trieste's union to Italy after World War I led to some decline of its "mittleuropean" cultural and commercial importance. Even if it enjoyed an economic revival during the 1930s, after WWII it suffered because of the border changes and, throughout the Cold War, Trieste was a peripheral city of western Europe. Today, the city is in one of the richest regions of Italy, and has been a great center for shipping, through its port (Port of Trieste), Shipbuilding and financial services.SOURCE:WIKIPEDIA
