Compilation of NATO's forces in action during heavy combat training and powerful military drills in European countries. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, also called the North Atlantic Alliance, is an intergovernmental military alliance based on the North Atlantic Treaty which was signed on 4 April 1949. The organization constitutes a system of collective defence whereby its member states agree to mutual defence in response to an attack by any external party. NATO's headquarters are located in Haren, Brussels, Belgium, where the Supreme Allied Commander also resides. Belgium is one of the 28 member states across North America and Europe, the newest of which, Albania and Croatia, joined in April 2009. An additional 22 countries participate in NATO's Partnership for Peace program, with 15 other countries involved in institutionalized dialogue programmes. The combined military spending of all NATO members constitutes over 70% of the global total. Members' defence spending is supposed to amount to 2% of GDP. ►Subscribe Now to War Clashes -- http://bit.ly/1iAy5UG ►Subscribe to our facebook page -- http://on.fb.me/1KDHp0B

Watch Top 5 Indian Special Forces. Here is a short video on top 5 special forces of Indian Military. 1) MARCOS 2) PARA SF 3) GARUD 4) GHATAK 5) NSG Hello Defence Lovers, Is Episode mai humne aapko India ki Top 5 Special Forces ke baare mai bataya hai, Hume Umeed hai ki apko yeh video pasand ayega. We have compiled data from the Internet to find out who the current Top 5 Special Forces Of India are. Join us as we take a closer look at the Top 5 Special Forces In India! 1) MARCOS : MARCOS or Marine Commandos is India’s most lethal special force. Though they are trained to engage in battle on all terrains, MARCOS commandos are super-experts in maritime warfare. The physical test to join MARCOS is so gruesome that more than 80 percent of the applicants drop out in the first, three-day long, physical fitness and aptitude test. Those who successfully complete the test are subjected to a five-week-long process called the ‘hell’s week’ where commandos are put through extreme sleep deprivation coupled with the most difficult physical tasks. These commandos are even capable of firing while lying down, standing, running full-sprint, even backwards and looking into a mirror – with a reaction time of 0.27 seconds. The final stages of the training include an 800-meter long thigh-high mud crawl called the ‘death crawl’, loaded with 25 kg of gear which is concluded with shooting a target 25 meters away with a man standing next to it. 2) Para Commandos : Para commandos is one of the most highly trained special forces of the Indian Army. Because of the extremely fatal nature of the operations they perform, they are kept at optimum level of operational efficiency and physical fitness, and only the most physically fit, mentally robust, intelligent, and highly motivated soldiers are inducted in the fleet. Para commandos go through the most grueling commando training regimes in the world, apart from daily 20km runs with 60km baggage and man-to-man assault practices; they even have to free fall from belligerent heights of as much as 33,500 feet. They are also highly trained in terrain and environment warfare and deep sea diving. Their most notable and fatal operations included the 1971 war with Pakistan, the 1999 Kargil war and the infamous Operation Bluestar in 1984. 3) Garud Commando Force : With over 2000 commandos, the Garud Commando Force is a unit of the Indian Air Force and specializes in Airfield Seizure, Special Reconnaissance, Airborne Operations, Air Assault, Special Operations Combat Search and Rescue, and counter insurgency. The training for being a Garud commando is so tough that it can take up to 3 years to qualify as a fully operational Garud. Also, Garud commandos are extremely adept at anti-hijack and counter insurgency training, jungle and snow survival techniques, specialized weapon handling and advanced driving skills. 4) Ghatak Force : Ghatak force is a special operations infantry platoon that acts as shock troops and lead man-to-man assaults ahead of a battalion. They specialize in raids on enemy artillery positions, airfields, supply dumps and tactical headquarters while also being experts at directing artillery and air attacks on targets deep within enemy lines. Only the most physically and mentally fit soldiers make it into the Ghatak force which is usually 20-men strong. Since they face the enemy face-to-face, they are trained to be undisputed at heliborne assault, rock climbing, mountain warfare, demolitions, advanced weapons training, close quarter battle and infantry tactics. 5) National Security Guard Or Black Cats : Created in 1986, the NSG or Black Cats fall neither under Central Armed Police Forces nor under Paramilitary Forces of India. Comprising two units – the Special Action Group (SAG), which consists entirely of Indian Army personnel; and the Special Ranger Groups (SRG) for counter terrorism activities – the NSG IS equipped with some of the most advanced weapons in the world. The selection process is so brutal that it has a dropout rate of 70-80 percent. And the few, who qualify to become NSGs, are sent off to train for another 9 months to become Phantom NSG Commandos. 🔴 Recommended Playlist - Defence Updates Series : https://youtu.be/45ynKgHDt3A?list=PLH3cBWh-hVy4trtrtw6e4Wsh-yUA6F-Kh 🔴 Recommended Playlist - Top 10 Series : https://youtu.be/MhyO3ZIwCrA?list=PLH3cBWh-hVy6DgBhzm1QJO4JJ4dizBWgZ ▶Also Watch, Top 10 Amazing Facts About Para Commandos : https://youtu.be/AfaB0rMOoy4 ▶Also Watch, Top 10 Most Elite Special Forces In The World : https://youtu.be/UZgOjtT0RSs ⭐SUBSCRIBE: https://goo.gl/6K7AJT ⭐ SOCIAL: Facebook...►https://www.facebook.com/IndianDefenceSquad/ Instagram..►https://www.instagram.com/defencesquad/ Background Music : www.bensound.com About : Defence Squad is a YouTube Channel where you will find videos related to the Great Indian Defence In Hindi.

Start Your Own internet business in Just 2 hours! VISIT: http://bit.ly/1gXGWj1 In the wake of events in eastern Ukraine over the last year, NATO has turned its attention towards countries that border the Russian Federation and attempted to boost its quick-response capabilities in Europe. In September 2014, the alliance agreed to create a 5,000-strong rapid reaction Spearhead Force, which will be capable of deploying across the continent within 48 hours of a military incursion. In June, VICE News joined several thousand NATO troops in western Poland, for the first deployment test of the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force, known as Noble Jump. Dutch forces were among those participating in the exercise. In this extra scene, VICE News travels to the Netherlands to see how NATO armies would mobilize and deploy in the event of a conflict in Europe. One Dutch major told us that Russias invasion of the Crimean Peninsula had been a wakeup call for the continent. According to the premise of Noble Jump, Poland and the Baltics were under threat from the fictional state of Bothnia — a master of conventional and hybrid warfare. NATO forces had been ordered to deploy — and quickly — to Poland. During the deployment test, NATOs top diplomat, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. flew in to watch its progress. He told VICE News that the alliance was undertaking the biggest reinforcement of our collective defense since the end of the Cold War. Japan is rearming itself for the first time since WWII in response to China’s increasing expansionism, and with tensions on the rise in the Pacific, the U.S. could be forced into war. After Japan was defeated in World War II, the country was forced to disarm and swear off military capability ever again. Over time, that pacifism became part of the Japanese psyche, but nationalism is on the rise around the world and Japan has not been immune from the political tide. China’s increasing expansionism, especially in the disputed islands in the East China Sea, and the looming nuclear threat from North Korea have revived decades old rivalries between the Asian superpowers. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his backers are re-thinking the country’s previously peaceful stance, and moving to restore Japan’s military might. And if local hostilities did boil into conflict, the U.S. is expected to play a very specific role. Japan fully depends on the strategic deterrence and strike capabilities of the United States if China really goes for military action,” Retired Admiral Yoji Kada, who was once the commander in chief of Japan’s self-defense fleet told VICE News. “The cost they are going to pay is very bloody, they know that” VICE’s Gianna Toboni traveled to Japan to see how big the country’s offense has become. September 12, 2016 began the 8 day Military Exercises in China's South China Sea for the Naval Forces and Zhanjiang in southern China's Guangdong Province for Ground Firing Ranges. This is to boost cooperation and coordination between Russia and China. The South China Sea is a disputed territory that is claimed both by multiple US-Allied Nations (Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Philippines, etc). In the last 2 years, more provocative military exercises are seen on both Western, Eastern, and Asian sides, building tensions between regional and to an extent global powers. Sweden has responded to a changing security situation in Europe by increasing its military spending, reintroducing conscription and hosting large-scale exercises. It has also stationed troops back on the strategically important Swedish island of Gotland, in the middle of the Baltic Sea, for the first time in more than a decade. While Sweden is not a NATO nation, NATO and Sweden have a strong partnership and actively work together in peace and security operations, and for both, providing security in the Baltic Sea region is a priority. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ SUBSCRIBE to this channel http://bit.ly/NATOsubscribe SUBSCRIBE to NATO News http://bit.ly/NATONewsSubscribe SUBSCRIBE to NATO History http://bit.ly/NATOHistorySubscribe Connect with NATO online: Visit the Official NATO Homepage: http://bit.ly/NATOhomepage Find NATO on FACEBOOK: http://bit.ly/NATOfacebook Follow @NATO on TWITTER: http://bit.ly/NATOtwitter Follow NATO on Instagram: http://bit.ly/NATOinstagram Find NATO on Google+: http://bit.ly/NATOgoogleplus Find NATO on LinkedIn: http://bit.ly/NATOlinkedin Find NATO on Flickr: http://bit.ly/NATOflickr

A protest is currently underway on the Spanish side of the frontier, calling for parity between the Policia Nacional and Guardia Civil, and regional police forces. The protest is being organised by JUSAPOL, a pressure group focusing on police salaries. GBC has received reports of incoming drivers in Gibraltar-registered cars being harassed by protestors. However, a spokesperson for the Borders and Coastguard Agency told GBC there had been no disruption to incoming traffic flow. JUSAPOL says the protest also aims to express solidarity with the Campo de Gibraltar and Ceuta in their efforts against drug-trafficking and illegal immigration. GBC understands the protest is not related to Gibraltar. If you have been affected by this protest, please contact us here or via [email protected] / 20079810.

The CSIS Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative and the Southeast Asia Program are pleased to invite you to a discussion with Bill Hayton, associate fellow at Chatham House. Hayton will argue that the current tensions in the South China Sea can be traced back to the muddled origins of China’s claims in the early twentieth century. He will show evidence that China’s claim to islands in the South China Sea emerged in 1909 and was further developed after 1933. He will explain how Chinese academics and officials came to draw the “U-shaped line” by copying Western maps—and in the process incorporated mistakes and misunderstandings with consequences that still trouble the region decades later. Bill Hayton is an associate fellow of Chatham House and a journalist with the BBC. He is the author of The South China Sea: The Struggle for Power in Asia, named one of The Economist’s Books of the Year in 2014. His previous book Vietnam: Rising Dragon describes the diplomatic, social, political, and economic issues facing modern Vietnam. Hayton has presented widely on the South China Sea and other Southeast Asian issues in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Livestream recording 2016-03-15 - In Europe’s Shadow is a riveting journey through (among other countries) Romania, one of Europe’s frontier countries—and a potent examination of the forces that will determine Europe’s fate in the postmodern age. In Europe’s Shadow is the story of an ideological and geographic frontier, necessary to to truly understand the crisis with Russia, and within Europe itself. Kaplan will investigate at De Balie the current European crises. How should we look at the future of alliances such as the NATO? What does Kaplan think about European leadership? And what can we say about the frontier countries such as Romania – between Russia and the West? After Kaplan's keynote speech there will be a conversation with Paul Brill (journalist, De Volkskrant). Robert D. Kaplan is the author of sixteen books on foreign affairs and travel translated into many languages, including In Europe's Shadow, Asia’s Cauldron, The Revenge of Geography, Monsoon, Balkan Ghosts, and Eastward to Tartary. He is a senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security in Washington and a contributing editor at The Atlantic, where his work has appeared for three decades. He was chief geopolitical analyst at Stratfor, a visiting professor at the United States Naval Academy, and a member of the Pentagon’s Defense Policy Board, appointed by Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. This video is also here: https://vimeo.com/debalie/kaplan N E D E R L A N D S : Robert D. Kaplan over Duister Europa In zijn nieuwe boek Duister Europa reist Robert Kaplan door Roemenië, Moldavië, Oekraïne, Bulgarije en Hongarije. Aircraft of the U.S. Fifth Air Force and the Royal Australian Air Force attacked a Japanese convoy that was carrying troops to reinforce their position in New Guinea. Most of the ships were destroyed. This was one of the first Allied victories in the Pacific. The newsreel has some great footage of Bristol Beaufighters, Douglas A-20 Havocs, Curtiss P-40s and Lockheed P-38 fighters in action. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND / CONTEXT The Battle of the Bismarck Sea (2–4 March 1943) took place in the South West Pacific Area (SWPA) during World War 2 when aircraft of the U.S. Fifth Air Force and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) attacked a Japanese convoy carrying troops to Lae, New Guinea. Most of the task force was destroyed, and Japanese troop losses were heavy. The Japanese convoy was a result of a Japanese Imperial General Headquarters decision in December 1942 to reinforce their position in the South West Pacific. A plan was devised to move some 6,900 troops from Rabaul (on the island of New Britain) directly to Lae. The plan was understood to be risky, because Allied air power in the area was strong, but it was decided to proceed because otherwise the troops would have to be landed a considerable distance away and march through inhospitable swamp, mountain and jungle terrain without roads before reaching their destination. On 28 February 1943, the convoy – comprising eight destroyers and eight troop transports with an escort of approximately 100 fighters – set out from Simpson Harbor in Rabaul. The Allies had detected preparations for the convoy, and naval codebreakers in Melbourne (FRUMEL) and Washington, D.C., had decrypted and translated messages indicating the convoy’s intended destination and date of arrival. The Allied Air Forces had developed new techniques they hoped would improve the chances of successful air attack on ships. They detected and shadowed the convoy, which came under sustained air attack on 2–3 March 1943. Follow-up attacks by PT boats (Patrol Torpedo boats) and aircraft were made on 4 March. All eight transports and four of the escorting destroyers were sunk. Out of 6,900 troops who were badly needed in New Guinea, only about 1,200 made it to Lae. Another 2,700 were rescued by destroyers and submarines and returned to Rabaul. The Japanese made no further attempts to reinforce Lae by ship, greatly hindering their ultimately unsuccessful efforts to stop Allied offensives in New Guinea. RUSSIA has issued an ominous threat after NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg revealed plans to beef up its military presence in the Black Sea - warning such a move had the potential to aggravate still further simmering tensions in the region. The country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko was speaking in advance of the arrival of several NATO warships which will conduct a series of naval drills in the Black Sea in the next few days. He told Russia’s state-run news agency TASS: "This is not a surprise for us; they have been saying for a while that they want to strengthen their positions in the Black Sea. We are talking about the strengthening of military and maritime forces of NATO member states, first and foremost, Romania and Bulgaria, plus non-coastal states entering the Black Sea more often. It is our understanding that this activity aggravates the situation in the sphere of security." Sounding a conciliatory note, he added: "The Black Sea has always been the sea of cooperation, even taking into account certain conflicts. "We need to strengthen security through increasing cooperation in the spheres of energy and transport. First and foremost, this is necessary for the Black Sea states. "As for the military matters, we strictly adhere to the provisions of the Montreux Convention, which has been a key element of the security architecture in the region for dozens of years.” The Convention, which was signed in 1936 and gives Turkey control over Turkish Straits which link the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea, was “unique” because it covers maritime military matters, Mr Grushko said. He added: “Secondly, BLACKSEAFOR [the Black Sea Naval Cooperation Task Group] continues to exist, which unites all states and is aimed at fulfilling strictly peaceful tasks, namely maritime search and rescue, as well as tasks related to new security threats.” Speaking at a press conference in Brussels yesterday, Mr Stoltenberg said the alliance was looking to strengthen its presence in the Black Sea to support Ukraine, from which Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. He added: “NATO allies have of course clearly stated that Russia's aggressive actions against Ukraine are unacceptable.” Referring to recent military clashes in which a Russian warship rammed three Ukrainian vessels, and the subsequent arrest of 24 Ukrainian sailors, he added: “The illegal annexation of Crimea, the continuing efforts to try to destabilise Ukraine through its efforts and presence in Donbas, and also, of course, the totally unjustified seizure of the Ukrainian ships near the Kerch Strait. "We are now looking into what more we can do, "We are looking into whether we can increase our presence in the Black Sea and in the near future, in a few days, we'll have NATO ships in the Black Sea, participating in an exercise. “So we have significantly increased our presence at sea but also in the air and on land in the Black Sea region. “All of this is also part of our support to Ukraine.” His comments came two days after he said NATO “planning for a world without the INF Treaty”, a reference to the landmark 1987 agreement signed by Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan aimed at limiting nuclear proliferation, which the United States pulled out of last month, citing alleged Russian violations. Mr Stoltenberg, who was gearing for a meeting with defence ministers of NATO’s member states, added: “We will discuss what steps NATO should take to adapt to a world with more Russian missiles. “Any steps we take will be coordinated, measured, and defensive. “And we do not intend to deploy new ground-based nuclear missiles in Europe.” Thank you for watching. The great frontier separates the world into two halves: a rich sea with flourishing trade and a high level of competition on the one hand, and a brutal desert where the forces are unstable like sand itself, on the other. In this battle, treachery and backstabbing can become a double-edged sword because the momentary benefit can also lead to much more global consequences, and all leaders must remember, when you put too much, you must be ready to lose everything. The Egyptian-Eritrean Military Axis Might Make The Horn Of Africa Crisis Explode Egypt’s purported military deployment to Eritrea is threatening to spark a multinational conflagration in the powder keg Horn of Africa region. This part of the world has always been tense and at risk of war, especially in the past few years ever since Ethiopia began constructing the Grand Renaissance Dam on the Blue Nile River. The Horn of Africa became a zone of competition in the “Gulf Cold War” following the GCC and Egypt’s campaign against Qatar last year, and it’s this combination of water wars and proxy wars that makes the region so volatile. The latest developments concern Egypt’s purported dispatch of troops to the western Eritrean base of Sawa near the Sudanese border, which in turn prompted Khartoum to recall its ambassador from Cairo, officially declare a “potential security threat from Egypt and Eritrea” in the area, and fortify the frontier. Egypt and Eritrea both deny that any troops were sent to Sawa, but some reports indicate that this move was actually in response to Turkey clinching a deal to develop the Sudanese island of Suakin near Port Sudan late last year which some observers suspect to be a front for secretly building a naval base in the Red Sea. Ankara and Cairo have been at odds with one another ever since President Sisi’s 2013 coup against pro-Turkish Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammed Morsi and President Erdogan’s apparent sponsorship of this same organization that’s banned in Egypt and most of the GCC states. Both parties evidently have interests in the Horn of Africa and now seem to be countering one another in this strategic space. President Erdogan’s visit to Khartoum late last year was recently followed by Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki’s trip to Cairo last week where he met with his Egyptian counterpart and both leaders pledged to “support the security and stability in the region”, hinting that the rumors about the development of fast-moving military ties between the two allies in the War on Yemen might actually be true. If so, then this would be a very destabilizing event because of Eritrea’s history of supporting armed militants in the surrounding states, including the Al Shabaab terrorist group that resulted in the country’s ongoing sanctioning by the UNSC since 2009. Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir told his Russian counterpart in late November that the US wants to divide his country into five parts, and it appears as though he’s now convinced that Eritrea is tasked with executing this scenario just like it’s already trying to do against Ethiopia. Egypt, which has a serious bone to pick with Ethiopia over the Grand Renaissance Dam and is presently experiencing very strained relations with Sudan over this issue and Khartoum’s port deal with Ankara, likely sees a strategic opportunity to “kill three birds with one stone” by destabilizing its two regional rivals while establishing a military patronage relationship with an envisioned client state crucially located at the mouth of the Bab el Mandab chokepoint. Egypt and Eritrea are now aligning against Ethiopia and Sudan, with Saudi Arabia and the UAE supporting the former pair while Qatar and Turkey back the latter one. China has a naval base in nearby Djibouti while Russia was offered one in Port Sudan, so both multipolar Great Powers have a stake in the peaceful outcome of this developing crisis and could potentially help mediate a solution to it just like how Beijing suggested it could do last summer between Eritrea and Djibouti. subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9IFRHTtYJFjhI5fBrLIJiQ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DNA997
