What is Product Regulatory Compliance?

04:14
This video explains, in under five minutes, what product regulatory compliance is. Assent Compliance’s Director of Product Strategy, Brandon Waselnuk, gives an excellent overview of what regulations are involved when producing a product. He reviews various regulations such as REACH, which is an E.U. regulation relating to restricted substances in products, and the Dodd-Frank Act Section 1502, which involves the use of conflict minerals. To learn about various industry regulations, visit the Assent Compliance blog here: http://assentcompliance.com/blog/ Product compliance is an essential part of producing any product. When creating products, companies need to understand what materials are being used and ensure the markets they are selling to do not restrict these substances. They also need to ensure the materials are ethically sourced to comply with regulations around conflict mineral sourcing and anti-human trafficking. Finally, companies need to make sure their products are safe and the factories where these products are produced operate ethically. Imagine this alternative could help millions of people quit smoking and came with only a fraction of the harmful chemicals that cigarettes do. Well, you don’t have to imagine it. It exists. E-cigarettes are the most innovative and promising smoking-cessation product yet invented. So, public health officials and anti-tobacco activists are all in favor of this life-saving innovation, right? Actually, they’re almost all totally against it. Why? Because, incredibly, they make no substantial distinction between e-cigarettes and real cigarettes -- even though they are completely different products. To begin with, e-cigarettes aren’t cigarettes. They contain no tobacco. Instead, a liquid containing nicotine derived from tobacco leaves is vaporized, and users of e-cigarettes inhale that vapor. Vapor, mind-you – not smoke. This is significant because the real harm from tobacco comes from the combustion process, which releases hundreds of toxic compounds known as tar. Since e-cigarettes have no tobacco and no combustion, they release no tar. This makes them, according to Britain’s Department of Health, at least 95% less harmful than tobacco cigarettes. E-cigarettes do contain nicotine, an addictive drug. However, there is little evidence that nicotine alone is bad for you, making it similar to, say, caffeine--a drug used every day by millions of people. Brad Rodu, an oral cancer specialist at the University of Louisville, put it this way: “I love coffee, and I’m sure I could get caffeine if I smoked my coffee beans…but I would be paying a much different price in overall health [if I did].” In other words, when it comes to addictive substances like caffeine or nicotine, it isn’t the addictive substance that’s harmful; it’s how it’s delivered. As South African psychiatrist Mike Russell said about cigarettes: “[People] smoke for [the] nicotine, but they die from the tar.” And again, there’s no tar in e-cigarettes. Does this all mean e-cigarettes are completely safe? Of course not. Nothing is completely safe. E-cigarettes are a relatively new innovation so more research is needed, especially on long-term effects. There’s also a place for sensible regulation to ensure consumer safety. But unlike normal everyday products, any potential risk posed by e-cigarettes is far outweighed by a real – not potential – good: saving lives by providing the nicotine that smokers enjoy without delivering the deadly toxins that can kill them. Many former smokers have successfully used e-cigarettes to help them kick their nicotine addiction altogether. A recent study in an Oxford Journal peer-reviewed publication, Nicotine and Tobacco Research, said that e-cigarettes could reduce smoking-related deaths by 21 percent. That’s thousands of lives every year. For the complete script, visit https://www.prageru.com/videos/whats-wrong-e-cigarettes

New U.S. FDA Food Labeling Rules

02:37
Transcript: In 2016, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration finalized significant changes to food and beverage labeling. This video provides food labelers with an overview of a few of the most significant changes. FDA has updated the format of the Nutrition Facts chart. For example, the fonts for serving size and calories per serving are bigger and bolder, and the calories from fat have been removed. FDA also increased the font size for servings per container. Added sugars are now displayed on a separate line and represent a daily value. FDA added Vitamin D and Potassium to the required list of nutrients, while Vitamins A and C were made optional. The new rules also update the formulas for daily values of sodium, dietary fiber, and vitamin D. FDA now requires the amount of each nutrient to be declared in micrograms and milligrams in addition to the percent daily value. To better represent average U.S. consumption, FDA has changed what defines a serving size for certain foods. For example, many 20 ounce bottles of soda are currently labeled as 2 servings. The new rules require 20 ounce sodas to be labeled as one serving. Products that may be consumed in either one or multiple sittings may be required to bear a “dual column” label that identifies calorie and nutrient information for both “per serving” and “per package or unit”. Originally, the compliance deadline for most food labelers to incorporate FDA's new requirements on their labels was July 26, 2018. In September 2017, FDA proposed to extend the deadline to January 1, 2020 because industry expressed significant concern about their ability to update all their labels on time. The process requires a considerable amount of time, so companies should start the process of updating their food labeling as soon as possible. Most importantly, consider all of the new requirements thoroughly. Labeling mistakes can lead to costly relabeling and detentions. It's wise to have a professional review your redesigned labels before printing. Registrar Corp Regulatory Specialists can review your food label for compliance with FDA's new requirements. Clients receive a detailed report along with a revised print-ready label that incorporates our recommended changes. For more information about FDA food labeling requirements or Registrar Corp’s service, simply phone our US office at 757-224-0177 or go to our website at www.registrarcorp.com.

How to Transport Dangerous Goods

01:02
http://www.dangerousgoodstransport.com/ Transport of dangerous goods is regulated in order to prevent, as far as possible, accidents to persons or property and damage to the environment, the means of transport employed or to other goods. However, with different regulations in every country and for different modes of transport, international trade in chemicals and dangerous products would be seriously impeded, if not made impossible and unsafe. Moreover, transport of dangerous goods are also subject to other kinds of regulations, e.g. work safety regulations, consumer protection regulations, storage regulations, environment protection regulations. In order to ensure consistency between all these regulatory systems, bodies such as the United Nations have developed mechanisms for the harmonization of dangerous goods transport classification criteria and hazard communication tools as well as for transport conditions for all modes for transport . In addition, the United Nations administers regional agreements that ensure the effective implementation of these mechanisms as far as transport of dangerous goods by road, rail and inland waterways is concerned.

[Webinar] Product Compliance Essentials

30:44
Full material disclosures (FMDs) change the way companies do compliance. Implementing FMDs into your compliance program will allow your company to see exactly what substances are in its products. This level of visibility eliminates the need to revisit the supply chain every time a regulation like REACH or RoHS is updated, and provides unprecedented insight into your supply chain. Traditional solutions, which include spreadsheet response tracking and requesting declarations of compliance from suppliers, do not help companies stay ahead of evolving requirements. As new substances are restricted under regulations, and as exemptions expire, companies face greater challenges in maintaining compliance. Assent’s Chemical Reporting Module helps companies unlock the power of full material disclosures. Utilize the Supplier Portal to collect declarations, such as IPC-1752A Class D XMLs, from your suppliers, and leverage the Part and Product Details pages, the FMD Generator and comprehensive reporting to take full advantage of your compliance data. This module automates the complexity of supply chain outreach and makes submitting and collecting material declarations straightforward. In this video, Assent’s Michael Penney, Compliance Specialist, demonstrates the most comprehensive compliance tool on the market. You will also learn how to leverage Assent’s market-leading compliance solution to get the most out of your compliance program. The FMDComplete Material Disclosure Tool helps you to upload, edit, validate and generate IPC-1752A XML declaration files. Government contract jobs -10 Best Practices for Winning Government Contract Jobs - TendersPage

09:24
Government contract jobs -10 Best Practices for Winning Government Contract Jobs - https://TendersPage.com How to start as a federal contractor: Federal contracts are a mechanism so the U.S. government can allow individuals and companies to bid on projects in exchange for the sale of property of services. It's like freelancing for the government -- yet with it comes strict regulations and the need for consistent reporting. Lucrative? Certainly. To get started you must first understand what's required. Becoming a federal contractor takes an awful lot of paperwork and patience. Ask yourself the following questions to make sure you're ready to take the leap into working with government contract work: Do I have an established business? Am I reliable and offer a quality service or product? Do I have proof of my performance? Will I be able to scale and hire new employees if need be? Can I weather the possible long payment cycles and stay afloat? If you're able to answer yes to these questions then you'll want to take these next steps: Obtain a D-U-N-S Number (a nine digit identification number for the physical location of your business) Register with the System of Award Management (SAM) Find your NAICS code which handles the tax end of the process Collect, document, and create reports on your past performances (can be done in-house but likely better to go through the Open Ratings, Inc Past Performance Evaluation) Gather the remaining items for registration (TIN or EIN tax ID, SIC codes, product service codes, and an optional Federal supply classification) Whew. That's quite a lot! you're within the system you will now have the credentials to begin bidding on jobs -- this, in many ways, is similar to a typical job search but limited to those that have federal standings. How to Find Federal Contracts Through these main portals: http://FBO.gov http://USAJobs.gov https://tenderspage.com/ These sites are very intuitive and easy-to-use, you can type in keyword or phrases to find listings, plunk in your location to browse what's in the area, or drill down using the side options with categories such as job categories, pay grade, department and agency, keywords, and more. The vetting process could take a good deal of time depending on the clearance and timeframe the government agencies are accepting bids so don't get discouraged if you do not receive an immediate reply. You may also want to consider subcontracting as a way to get your foot in the door. Through subcontracting, you can work with a business that already has access and ties to government contracts who are willing to pass off in your direction. If this sounds like a strategy you’d like to use, you should know about OLIA. OLIA is a one-of-a-kind feature that allows your organization to communicate with potential bid partners. This is an exclusive TendersPage offering, so be sure to take a look. https://tenderspage.com Your business will build relationships with the different agencies and branches of government which will later look great when presenting the business toward new contracts. Government contracting tips to boost your success rate: Familiarize with the person you'll be contacting by taking the time to understand the needs of the contract. Find opportunities where others have failed. Government contracts demand a high return on performance. Contracts cancel on a whim if the contractor cannot meet the goals. Pay attention to your competition and step in when they falter to swipe the contract right under their feet. Get out there and attend industry events. This will put you in direct contact with the people that matter. Spread your brand to the influencers and learn from the industry professionals. Consider, too, taking on a mentor! Get certified through SBA's HUBZone program, SBA's business development program, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses initiative, or Women-Owned Small Businesses initiative. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=di-wd65HaIo Change the way you market your business so that it's tailored to government agencies. Educate yourself on government procedures and talking points. Place what you've learned into your marketing materials. Improve how you and employees interact with government officials in person, through email, and over the phone. With these government contracting tips, you should gain a slight edge versus the typical contractor that's only doing them. Over the weekend the UK government announced it would be putting forward proposals for new drone laws, compulsory drone registration and possible drone restrictions in early 2018. What is CONTRACT MANAGEMENT? What does CONTRACT MANAGEMENT mean?

04:40
✪✪✪✪✪ WORK FROM HOME! Looking for WORKERS for simple Internet data entry JOBS. $15-20 per hour. SIGN UP here - http://jobs.theaudiopedia.com ✪✪✪✪✪ What is CONTRACT MANAGEMENT? What does CONTRACT MANAGEMENT mean? CONTRACT MANAGEMENT definition - CONTRACT MANAGEMENT explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Contract management or contract administration is the management of contracts made with customers, vendors, partners, or employees. The personnel involved in contract administration required to negotiate, support and manage effective contracts are often expensive to train and retain. Contract management includes negotiating the terms and conditions in contracts and ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions, as well as documenting and agreeing on any changes or amendments that may arise during its implementation or execution. It can be summarized as the process of systematically and efficiently managing contract creation, execution, and analysis for the purpose of maximizing financial and operational performance and minimizing risk. Common commercial contracts include employment letters, sales invoices, purchase orders, and utility contracts. Complex contracts are often necessary for construction projects, goods or services that are highly regulated, goods or services with detailed technical specifications, intellectual property (IP) agreements, outsourcing and international trade. Most larger contracts require the effective use of contract management software to aid administration among multiple parties. A study has found that for "42% of enterprises...the top driver for improvements in the management of contracts is the pressure to better assess and mitigate risks" and additionally,"nearly 65% of enterprises report that contract lifecycle management (CLM) has improved exposure to financial and legal risk." During the post-award phase, it is important to ensure that contract conditions and terms are met, but it is also critical to take a closer look for items such as unrecorded liabilities, under-reported revenue or overpayments. If these items are overlooked, margin may be negatively impacted. A contract compliance audit will often commence with an opportunity review to identify the highest risk areas. Having a dedicated contract compliance (and/or governance) program in place has been shown to result in a typical recovery of 2-4% and sometimes as high as 20%. Current thinking about contract management in complex relationships is shifting from a compliance “management” to a “governance” perspective, with the focus on creating a governance structure in which the parties have a vested interest in managing what are often highly complex contractual arrangements in a more collaborative, aligned, ?exible, and credible way. In 1979, Nobel laureate Oliver Williamson wrote that the governance structure is the “framework within which the integrity of a transaction is decided.” He further added that “because contracts are varied and complex, governance structures vary with the nature of the transaction.” (See also relational contract). Eriksson and Westerberg (2011); Li, Arditi, and Wang (2012); Chen and Manley (2014), and Cardenas, Voordijk, and Dewulf (2017) have hypothesized, developed and extensively tested conceptual models in which relevant project governance instruments and factors were identified and related to the performance of construction projects. A collaborative governance framework has four components: A relationship management structure (how the parties work together to make both day to day operational decisions as well as strategic decisions) A joint performance and transformation management process designed to track the overall performance of the partnership An exit management plan as a controlling mechanism to encourage the organizations to make ethical, proactive changes for the mutual benefit of all the parties. Compliance to special concerns and regulations, which include the more traditional components of contract compliance.

Patrick discovered the buy button inside the brain and spent two years researching and formalizing a science-based map to access that button. Neuroscience is exiting the hospitals to reach the aisles of your grocery store. Companies like Coke and Pepsi want to better understand how and why you decide to buy their products, movie makers want to know what trailer will best promote their films, and politicians want to predict what issue will make them win or lose your vote -- and they are all looking for answers inside your brain! Patrick received a Masters in Computer Science from the National Institute of Applied Sciences (Lyon, France). He is the co-author of "Neuromarketing: Understanding the buy button inside your customer's brain." He is currently serving as Chief Neuromarketing Officer of SalesBrain. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. On this episode of Healthytarian Living, host Evita Ochel (http://www.evitaochel.com) welcomes special guest Allison Jorgens, to discuss how to understand the claims, facts and regulations on food packages and labels. Allison Jorgens is a Professional Home Economist holding a degree in nutritional sciences. She has been working as a food label specialist for grocers and food manufactures in Canada for nearly a decade. Over the past ten years, Allison has reviewed thousands of food labels for many of Canada's leading grocery brands. And she is the author of the newly released book "Read it With a Grain of Salt". Topics covered include: - what does "read it with a grain of salt mean?" - is it legal to sell food without labels, and how do some producers do it? - how front package claims can be misleading - the role of images on food products, and how they can be misleading - why the list of ingredients is the most important part of the food label to read - is everything we see on the ingredients label all there is - understanding the presence of hidden ingredients - the significance of the order of ingredients listed on food packages - how additives at the end do not mean they are in least amount - what are class names - what hides in things like modified milk ingredients, natural flavours, etc. - how having zero of something does not mean the product is fully free of it, ex. 0 trans fats - how do companies come up with nutrient numbers - why don't nutrient numbers always match up - why the labels have vitamin A, C, calcium and iron only listed typically - how to understand missing nutrients - what each consumer can do to empower themselves and help the system

What is COMPLIANCE TRAINING? What does COMPLIANCE TRAINING mean? COMPLIANCE TRAINING meaning

What is COMPLIANCE TRAINING? What does COMPLIANCE TRAINING mean? COMPLIANCE TRAINING meaning - COMPLIANCE TRAINING definition - COMPLIANCE TRAINING explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ Compliance training refers to the process of educating employees on laws, regulations and company policies that apply to their day-to-day job responsibilities. An organization that engages in compliance training typically hopes to accomplish several goals: (1) avoiding and detecting violations by employees that could lead to legal liability for the organization; (2) creating a more hospitable and respectful workplace; (3) laying the groundwork for a partial or complete defense in the event that employee wrongdoing occurs despite the organization's training efforts; and (4) adding business value and a competitive advantage. Organizations offer their employees compliance training on a wide range of topics, including workplace discrimination and harassment, dealings with competitors, insider trading, protecting trade secrets, records management, bribery and kickbacks, etc. Typically, most or all of these compliance topics are addressed in an organization's Code of Conduct, and the organization may offer employees annual or bi-annual Code of Conduct training in lieu of requiring employees to take multiple individual training programs. "The history of how compliance regulations and mandates came about is not linear and completely clear, however most refer that it began around the Reagan scandals during his presidency. Moving ahead from that, it was the early 1990’s after the Federal Sentencing Guidelines promised reduced fines for implementing an Effective Compliance and Ethics Program (ECEP). The last phase came from a number of high profile corporate corruption cases that include companies such as Enron, MCI/WorldCom, and Tyco." Most notably, any financial institution or publicly regulated company is required to ensure that all of their employees are correctly trained in areas of compliance pertaining to their industry. For example, WalMart would be required to train their employees on Sexual Harassment, Data Security, Anti-Harassment, and more. Financial institutions would need training on PCI compliance and other courses such as Anti money laundering. Compliance training can be performed in-house by compliance training specialists, or can be hired out to consultant firms to teach to employees. The new wave of compliance training is online compliance training which is usually a combination of live or recorded video modules, outside reading, and quizzes. There may or may not be a certificate provided at the end, and time lengths can vary depending on industry, country, and the actual type of compliance training that is being done. Most large companies who have thousands of employees are favoring the online compliance training for consistent education, as well as a better platform which is more engaging to employees if the correct training provider is used. While this is entirely tied to the realm of compliance that is being considered, the penalties can range from a Fine, through the seizure of company assets, to jail time for executives of the company at fault. For example, the consequences of not being compliant with Anti Money Laundering cost the Las Vegas Sands Resort to pay $47 Million in penalties for suspicious credit card transactions. HIPAA fines for lack of compliance can be staggering as well. In the past, the Alaska State Department paid $1,700,000 in fines for an Unencrypted USB hard drive stolen, poor policies and risk analysis.

Aromatherapy - Face & Scalp Massage Tutorial [Unintentional ASMR]

06:09
Here is a short, informative demonstration of aromatherapy massage techniques. This is a tutorial and should not be performed by anyone who is untrained in the subject. Likewise, only clinically trained aromatherapists should mix oil blends, due to the potency and effects of the oils. Those who are trained in massage (but not clinically) should use pre-blended oils only. Always remember to perform a full consultation and make sure there are no ailments present that prevent a massage first; you want it to be beneficial and it should never feel uncomfortable. Happy massaging!
