Debian Website: https://www.debian.org/ Download Debian 9 GNOME Live Install ISO Image: https://www.debian.org/CD/live/ What is GNOME Desktop? GNOME is a desktop environment that is composed entirely of free and open-source software. GNOME was originally an acronym for GNU Network Object Model Environment. Its target operating system is Linux, but it is also supported on most derivatives of BSD. GNOME is developed by the GNOME Project, which is composed of both volunteers and paid contributors. Administrators and those in security-sensitive environments can be comforted in the knowledge that the X display system no longer requires "root" privileges to run. GNOME Website: https://www.gnome.org/ VirtualBox Guest Additions Features The Guest Additions offer the following features below: - Improved Video Support: While the virtual graphics card which VirtualBox emulates for any guest operating system provides all the basic features, the custom video drivers that are installed with the Guest Additions provide you with extra high and non-standard video modes as well as accelerated video performance. - Mouse Pointer Integration: This provides with seamless mouse support. A special mouse driver would have to be installed in the guest OS, which would exchange information with the actual mouse driver on the host. The special mouse driver then allows users to control the guest mouse pointer. - Time Synchronization: With the Guest Additions installed, VirtualBox can ensure that the guest's system time is better synchronized with that of the host. - Shared Folders: These provide an easy way to exchange files between the host and the guest. - Seamless Windows: With this feature, the individual windows that are displayed on the desktop of the virtual machine can be mapped on the host's desktop, as if the underlying application was actually running on the host. - Shared Clipboard: With the Guest Additions installed, the clipboard of the guest operating system can optionally be shared with your host operating system. Arch Linux 2017.08 Installation + GNOME Desktop + Apps + Guest Additions on Oracle VirtualBox [2017]

22:07
This video tutorial shows Arch Linux 2017.08 installation with GNOME Desktop on Oracle VirtualBox step by step. We'll also install applications such as Firefox, VLC, GIMP and LibreOffice on Arch Linux 2017. This tutorial is also helpful to install Arch Linux on physical computer or laptop hardware. We also install VirtualBox Guest Additions on Arch Linux for better performance and usability features: Automatic Resizing Guest Display, Shared Folder, Seamless Mode and Shared Clipboard, Improved Performance and Drag and Drop. Steps: 1- Create Virtual Machine on Oracle VirtualBox 2- Start Arch Linux Base Installation 3- Installing Xorg and GNOME Desktop 4- Installing Firefox, VLC, GIMP and LibreOffice Applications on Arch Linux 5- Install Arch Linux Wallpapers 6- Install VirtualBox Guest Additions 7- Test Guest Additions Features: Automatic Resizing Guest Display and Shared Clipboard What is Arch Linux? Arch Linux is an independently developed Linux distribution targeted at competent Linux users. It uses pacman, its home-grown package manager, to provide updates to the latest software applications with full dependency tracking. Arch Linux uses a rolling release model, such that a regular system update is all that is needed to obtain the latest Arch software. The installation images released by the Arch team are simply up-to-date snapshots of the main system components. The default install provides a solid base that enables users to create a custom installation. In addition, the Arch Build System (ABS) provides a way to easily build new packages, modify the configuration of stock packages, and share these packages with other users via the Arch Linux user repository. Arch Linux Website: https://www.archlinux.org/ Download Arch Linux ISO: https://www.archlinux.org/download/ Arch Linux Minimum System Requirements Arch Linux should run on any x86_64-compatible machine with a minimum of 512 MB RAM. A basic installation with all packages from the base group should take less than 800 MB of disk space. As the installation process needs to retrieve packages from a remote repository, a working internet connection is required. What is GNOME Desktop? GNOME is a desktop environment that is composed entirely of free and open-source software. GNOME was originally an acronym for GNU Network Object Model Environment. Its target operating system is Linux, but it is also supported on most derivatives of BSD. GNOME is developed by the GNOME Project. GNOME Website: https://www.gnome.org/ GNOME 3 Desktop Minimum System Requirements - 1 GHz processor - 1GB RAM (system memory) - 7 GB of hard-drive space - VGA capable of 1024x768 screen resolution Hope you found it informative and useful. Lubuntu 17.04 Installation + Guest Additions on Oracle VirtualBox [2017]

This video tutorial shows Lubuntu 17.04 installation on Oracle VirtualBox step by step. This tutorial is also helpful to install Lubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) on physical computer or laptop hardware. We also install Guest Additions on Lubuntu for better performance and usability features: Automatic Resizing Guest Display, Shared Folder, Seamless Mode and Shared Clipboard, Improved Performance and Drag and Drop. Steps: 1- Create Virtual Machine on Oracle VirtualBox 2- Start Lubuntu 17.04 Installation 3- Install VirtualBox Guest Additions on Lubuntu 17.04 4- Test Guest Additions Features: Automatic Resizing Guest Display and Shared Clipboard Lubuntu 17.04 New Features and Improvements Lubuntu 17.04 was released on 13 April 2017. Like previous releases it uses LXDE and not LXQt as the implementation of LXQt in Lubuntu has been delayed once again, this time until 17.10. This release incorporated Linux Kernel 4.8, updated LXDE components, general bug fixes and new artwork. Lubuntu 17.04 features mainly of bug fixes and core app and system updates rather than screenshot-able new features. Lubuntu Website: http://lubuntu.net/ Lubuntu 17.04 Minimum System Requirements Lubuntu is a good operating system for many old computers, but not for all of them. Some computers have too little horsepower or memory. A rule of thumb is that the computer should not be more than 10 years old. - For advanced internet services like Google+, YouTube, Google Drive, and Facebook, your computer needs at least 1 GB of RAM. - For local programs like LibreOffice and simple browsing habits, your computer needs at least 512 MB of RAM. - The minimum specification for CPU is Pentium 4 or Pentium M or AMD K8. Older processors are too slow and the AMD K7 has problems with Flash video. Hope you found it informative and useful. Any questions or comments are welcomed. This release also brings a new Parrot OS derivative named Parrot Air. It’s similar to Parrot Full and comes with tools dedicated solely for wireless testing. Parrot team says that Parrot Air is just a proof of concept that’ll be improved in future. Parrot Core is not only an awesome security oriented platform, but it is also suitable for more general purpose derivative projects, and workstations and personal computers can only take advantage from a very lightweight debian based system which is ready out of the box with all the customizations and configurations already done by Parrot team.
