CSS Round Edge
Dreamweaver evolving with web design elements allows us to create those rounded edges using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and long gone are the days where we need to design such a feature in Photoshop. There are many benefits being able to achieve this in Dreamweaver, the obvious benefit is time, a few lines of code will allow you to design your element freeing up time to focus on other elements within your design, whereas before we would have been required to create such a feature in Adobe Photoshop.
The fact we can now create the CSS rounded corner in Dreamweaver also benefits our on page search engine optimisation, as mentioned above no need for Photoshop, so this effect will be in place with no need for an image that will slow down the load speed of your page. Whenever possible you should implement CSS to design and develop as many parts of your website as possible as there is virtually no load time required.
CSS curved edge
The CSS curved edge is a nice feature to remove any streamline and squared edges on your design, having rounded corners helps in blending elements within your website to the background. The round edge can be applied to almost any element including banners, div tag areas, navigation buttons, footer area and much more.
CSS Rounded Edge Code
The built in web kit in Dreamweaver is what allows us the functionality to achieve the rounded corner effect, please note you will be required to preview this in the browser to see the effect in action, the script is web based and will not appear in your Dreamweaver window. As some browsers may not be up to speed with the web-kit try uploading your website to the web before troubleshooting any issues, I have only tried and tested in the Google Chrome browser as I refuse to use any other.
Below if four simple lines of code that will allow you to implement the above effect, please note you can increase or decrease the value to achieve a more prominent rounded corner, I decided to use 4 as I was creating the effect on a small area giving the button on the navigation menu a slight rounded corner.
